this ep is broken into two sections - track 1-3, which are more recent improvisations captured using the Lyra 8 - the most wonderful analogue instrument of electronic exploration. Tracks 4-5 are much older...and to be fair I no longer have any knowledge of how they were captured. But I believe there's a lot of modular and analogue kit in there somewhere.

the theme is very much about exploring the darker nature of an internal narrative...the sounds are an expression of all sorts of sensations that one can experience in times of darkness, where the path of routine and reason is hard to find. music can be a useful friend at those times...and for me there's a natural draw towards documenting those moments, so I can look back on them and remember where i've been.

but of course, if you have the energy or the inclination, make of it what you will...
